13/52

-got high school drunk with high school friends.

-it's April (how??)

-started a girls dinner tradition.

-Good Friday off with Ry. Watched (and judged) so much Married at First Sight

-Jack is a food eating and LOVING baby. Carrots, broccoli, squash, blueberries, banananas, you name it, he'll eat it.

14/52

-Jack's 1st Easter! Brunch in Hoboken and then to the beach for some Jack din (last bottle)

-surgery was a SUCCESS! And I ate so much Italian ice.

-because of surgery, literally nothing else happened this week...literally.

12/52

-Bier Garten for Megan's birthday.

-double yoga this weekend! And I did my first headstand since I had Jack.

-I am in dire need of a desk chair.

-I am in dire need of painting our front door this color

-I am in dire need of getting my gallbladder removed...happening on 4.6. eek

-I am in dire need of kissing this face:

11/52

-here I go again complaining about baby yoga moms, but I am about to complain about baby yoga moms. They are just so mom like that someone actually said this sentence "Tuesday is our only free day. We have FitMoms on Monday and Wednesday, yoga on Thursday and the BreastFeeding group on Friday"  (she had a 7 month old, they were also wearing matching headbands)

-Ryan and I went to a baptism class at St.Michaels and had nervous, half drunk* giggles during the entire informational VHS that they played for us. *we may have gone to happy hour beforehand.

-we got some serious serious snow.

-I am actually reading a book! A lovely (and quite funny!) mystery from 1946.

-this little baby is now a belly sleeper and a thumb sucker:

10/52

-took Jack to his first estate sale--that of course was in the home of a chain smoker who seemed to have a serious addiction to Carpet Fresh and Glade Plug Ins. BUT, I scored a filing cabinet!

-again...more fucking pizza. albeit delicious pizza like brussels sprouts ans bacon pizza, but still. what gives?

-had mom and Jeff over for our first official dinner at our sort of finished dining room.

-Jinx: Life and Deaths of Fred Durst (*i know it is Robert but he is Fred to me). Surprised that Ship Bottom got a shout out!

-I have decided to become a baby yoga instructor (no, seriously).

-Jack loves bananas!

9/52

-this world got another brand new baby and she is too die for. Welcome sweet-cheeked, Castella!

-Jack is eating* cereal!

-Ryan and I had the best drunk Saturday movie night ever: Reality Bites followed by the Soul Power documentary. Nostalgic and informative. AND in a serendipitous twist--the location of Soul Power (1974 boxing match Ali/Forman) was a clue in my crossword puzzle that very week (Zaire!)

-the last of the great snowfalls happened (I hope)

-we just keep eating too much pizza...no, seriously.

*hating

8/52

Well I had off last Friday 2/27 which meant that I was nowhere near my computer thank god which meant...no post. Catching up here:

-Ok Lent began a little late for me this year but I am giving up what I give up every year: No weekday drinking. And I will promptly give up on that within a week.

-Heather and Dan's wedding on LI and the scariest drive home in the snow--also, I was walking distance to the West Elm and Restoration Hardware outlets and I couldn't do much about it.

-I really am enjoying the new show Togetherness and I also really love the theme song. When I tried googling what it was I ended up at some hardcore porn site. So that was interesting.

-fresh fish tacos.

-melting snow.

-Valentines Day pizza at Porta. Drinks at Avenue.

-I had apple cider donuts with cinnamon whipped cream and Glogg for brunch on Sunday because I could.

-I am starting to realize a whole lot about my life.

-bought Jack Egyptian Magic lotion because he is one rashy baby.

6/52

-OK, seriously job...calm the fuck down. This week honestly feels like it was spent doing nothing but stressing about work and babysitters. Deep breathe. Find the good!!:

-Ryan painted our dining room ceiling black! I can't even with its majesty....

-we're having babysitter woes. This new girl we hired asked to make pasta (duh, yes, of course, spirit food animal). but then made a whole box and took half home with her. Am i being weird or is that not just the strangest?!

-Took Jack to his first baby yoga class...which was also my first 'mommy and me' sort of outing with him. He liked it (going upside was his favorite. a cacophony of moms shaking and banging on musical instruments made him scream...i get it, dude). I found out that I am an awkward mom around other moms. They all just felt very mom-like. And I didn't feel like talking about grocery stores...

5/52

-Ok this might have been the worst week of my life career wise. So much so that I had a sit down with Jack and told him to never ever have a job that stresses you out this much especially if the work isn't bettering yourself or the world. I hope he was listening.

-BUT--one of my best friends had a baby so pretty much all is right with the world. Welcome baby Hadley! Already so super loved.

-Ryan and I got all sorts of up to date with our Oscar movies--Imitation Game and Birdman...both great!

-Cauliflower. just cause.

-Life feels awesome and exciting again which can only mean that winter is waning and playgrounds here we come!

4/52

-So winter happened. And I ADORE our house in the winter. We live at the beach but for some reason, even when we first came to see the house, I only pictured us there in the winter---by the fire, looking at the snow through the million (drafty) windows, listening to Rolling Stones records and watching movies.

-V and S came by for snow day soup and homemade bread.

-I bought this book because of the page that reads: 'Can you randomly e-mail me weird blog links that remind you of me?'

-Jack is an official crib sleeping baby. My favorite thing to do in the morning is to go into his room and hear him cooing and see him smiling. He wakes up happier than anyone I have ever known (never change, Jack!)

3/52

-Jack laughs are upon us!! He really appreciated the hens in Ryan's rendition of Old McDonald. We discovered this last night when I was fuming mad about laundry/Ryan/being forced to watch Workaholics and then that little bug chuckled and I was like "What laundry?"

-It is our 1 year wedding anniversary. How the fuck? Celebrating tonight with gobs of liquor, bar food, elevator rides* and coke slurpees*

-I've been sort of killing it with yoga lately, if I do say so myself.

-Talula's for pizza din--yes yes yes! Anyone in the central NJ vicinity should head over!

2/52

-I saw a 10 of hearts playing card in the middle of the street right by the entrance of the Queens Midtown Tunnel. What does it mean?!

-Oscar noms are out. Boyhood, yes! Richard Linklater! Austin, TX in the 90s is my San Francisco, CA of the 60s. Wish I could have been there...

-Jack is just the best little Jack in all of life. He smiles like mad and now has mastered the art of grasping his hands together in sort of an evil mastermind sort of way. I love him. Also, I have turned him onto the cardigan.

-I am taking teapills. They are weird. They are breastfeeding and my high liver enzymes and my RA, though, so, win win win. I am falling apart...

Funny dreams

Of all the things Jack will inherit from me (story embellishment, rashy skin, love of old horror movies) my absolute favorite, and most recently realized attribute is that he laughs in his sleep just like I do. He doesn't even laugh yet in real life but, twice now, he's giggled in his sleep. The first time I heard it he was only a few weeks old and I dismissed the laugh thinking 'no way! He did not just do that! I'm delirious! But lo and behold, it happened again today. Heart melt.

1/52

So I am back to my weekly updates for 2015! It has been since 2011 (on Tumblr) that I have done this but with Jack and with how time is just flying right by, I want to make sure I remember it all...or most of it anyway. So the first week of 2015??

-Jack is HOLY SHIT sleeping through the night! Like between 10-12 hours through the night! He wins 'Best Baby Ever' award.

-Ryan and I began a tradition of going to eat pizza on Tuesdays down the street from our house. This was made exponentially better by my best buds (who moved less than a mile away from us recently!) joining us.

-Speaking of traditions, Jan 1 trip to the beach with Jack (he saw nothing):

-I am commuting again (ugh) but car rides into the city are made all the more worthwhile by Dunkin Donuts now offering up almond milk and by listening to lots of This American Life.

-Guess who has a secret admirer??:
